Country Music from the Texas Panhandle
the heart of the Texas Panhandle, Cameron James Smith learned about life and music listening to Country and Gospel radio. In 2019, Cameron started performing live shows around the Texas Panhandle and has since played over 400 shows sharing his engaging stage presence and heartfelt lyrics with thousands. He has also shared the stage with artists like Josh Turner, Casey Donahue, and Tracy Byrd. His Solo debut in 2022 “This Heart Belongs in Texas” was a swift success, reaching #36 on the Texas Country Music Chart and setting the stage for his growing discography.
Cameron’s subsequent singles - “Two left Feet”, “Small Town Texas”, and “Burn Holes in our Boots” - further solidified his status, each finding a spot in the top 50 of the Texas Country Music Chart. Cameron continued to build his music catalog with his first EP, “Silveradios”, which released in March 2024. Later that year, Cameron successfully crowdfunded enough to begin work on a new project.
After spending most of 2025 developing and recording new music, Cameron got the opportunity to audition for season 24 of American Idol and made it to Hollywood Week and the top 127. In October, Cameron began releasing music again with “Maker Of Man” and “Black Tops and Yellow Lines” in January 2026. With a slew of new music on the way, Cameron continues to build his online following.
